Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) is the city of Liverpool’s flagship annual music festival. Yaw was brought in from the start in 2013 to creatively direct LIMF to be a contemporary, inclusive and representative reflection of Liverpool’s music appetite, heritage and ambition. LIMF has hosted internationally celebrated acts such as Nile Rodgers & Chic, Damian Marley, Basement Jaxx, Little Mix, UB40, Laura Mvula, Lianne La Havas, Boy George, Sigma, Echo and The Bunnymen and Little Simz alongside a number of acclaimed artistic commissions, future stars and emerging talent.
LIMF has won a number of awards and fast became a shining example of a diverse contemporary music festival that blended top line stars, with emerging talent and cutting edge music whilst remaining truly inclusive in terms of music policy, audience, music policy and genre. LIMF is notably a credible music festival which also delivers impact for the city – driving economic impact and upgrading the wider city narrative on a national and international level and at the same time engaging, reflecting and invigorating the local music scene.
