YES WE ARE! was a creative development programme for female songwriters, composers, musicians and producers, delivered by LIMF Academy in partnership with The Ivors Academy Trust and funded by Liverpool City Council and PPL Giving.
The project brought together twelve female music creators from the Liverpool City Region for a series of guided collaborative songwriting and recording sessions with Michelle Escoffery and Lapsley at Kempston Street Studios in Liverpool, giving participants the space to connect, create and develop new music under the guidance of experienced mentors and industry professionals.
Beyond the recording sessions, participants travelled to London for a bespoke industry day offering insights and networking opportunities with key female leaders across the professional music landscape. Selected artists were also invited to perform at the prestigious Kindred Showcase at the Southbank Centre, providing a powerful platform to share their work with a wider national audience.
Yaw conceptualised, designed and oversaw the delivery of YES WE ARE!, a project that sits at the heart of what he has always stood for: creating genuine, transformative opportunities for music creators who deserve to be heard and seen, and building the kind of infrastructure that makes lasting change possible.
