Working with 12 unemployed young adults, all received the training with 3 of the group going on to have paid work experience with leading music organisations.
In 2024, we launched a 12 month programme, OPEN SAUCE x GENERATOR, in partnership with Newcastle-based music development Generator NE, which focused on supporting Black music talent launch their careers in the music industry. We recruited and employed 2 Black industry professional interns to work on a live projects (artist projects signed artists to Interval Records / EMI North). The internship was paid, and included high level mentoring, work placements at Warner Music and Warner Chappell and enrolment on The Ivors Academy’s education programme TheWRD. In addition, the programme also saw the signing of two emerging Black music artists too.
